چکیده
In this paper, we propose a methodology to accurately evaluate and compare the performance of efficient neural network building blocks for computer vision in hardware-aware manner. Our comparison uses pareto fronts based on randomly sampled networks from design space capture underlying accuracy/complexity trade-offs. We show that our approach enables matching information obtained by previous paradigms, but provides more insights into relationship between hardware cost accuracy. use analyze different their range embedded platforms. This highlights importance benchmarking as preselection step process network. choosing right block can speed up inference factor two specific ML accelerators.

A building block for hardware belief networks
Belief networks represent a powerful approach to problems involving probabilistic inference, but much of the work in this area is software based utilizing standard deterministic hardware based on the transistor which provides the gain and directionality needed to interconnect billions of them into useful networks. This paper proposes a transistor like device that could provide an analogous buil...
متن کاملImplementing Computer Vision Algorithms in Hardware: An FPGA/VHDL-Based Vision System for a Mobile Robot
A time critical process in a real-time mobile robot application such as RoboCup, is the determination of the robot position in the game field. Aiming at low-cost and efficiency, this paper proposes the use of field-programmable gate array device (FPGA) in the vision system of a robotic team. We describe the translation of well-known computer vision algorithms to VHDL and detail the design of a ...
متن کاملMediated Reality Using Computer Graphics Hardware for Computer Vision
Wearable, camera based, head–tracking systems use spatial image registration algorithms to align images taken as the wearer gazes around their environment. This allows for computer–generated information to appear to the user as though it was anchored in the real world. Often, these algorithms require creation of a multiscale Gaussian pyramid or repetitive re–projection of the images. Such opera...
متن کامل3-D model building for computer vision
This paper presents a Computer-Aided Geometric Design (CAGD) based approach for building 3-D models which can be used for the recognition of 3-D objects for industrial machine vision applications. The objects are designed using the Alpha_1 CAGD system developed at the University of Utah. A new method is given which uses the CAGD design and allows the points on the surface of the object to be sa...
